Christmas is coming.......

Hello and apologies for the lack of posts, it sure has been a while since I last posted, as I have had so much going on and not enough time. I won't bore you with the details and hope to post more frequently again and organise some candy for you to win in the near further.

Now down to one of my latest creations. My inspiration came from a recent punch class with Heather. I'll show you more samples later.

To make this card you'll need the 3 heart punch to create the Christmas tree and the small star punch for the star topper. I added some wire and beads to dress my tree and the rest is of the card is made from Stampin Up products.

Pop over to Heather's(http://stampwithheather.typepad.com/stamp_with_heather) {I can never workout the link thing!!!sorry} and check out her punch classes, they are always full of inspiration.

Anyway, until next time take care,

Happy Father's Day

Just a quick post to show you a Father's Day card that was a make 'n' take at a recent workshop at Jess's place, hi Jess.

Not sure what it is called, but I call it a swing top card as you can see here...
All the colours are in colours except the 'Father' on the swing top which is old olive. We inked up both ends with pacific point and tangerine tango. Then used old olive stampin write marker to create the three colours on the one stamp.
I love the effect created with this card that I will have to give this a go in a Christmas version soon.....
Anyway, until next time, take care

Inkspirations colour challenge # 9

It has been a while since I have completed a challenge and was over at Keesh's and just new straight away what I could do with these colours.

I wanted something bright, fun and playful as kittens are, the way I want to remember our Claws who we lost last week.

Lots of circles have been used to go with the stamp set circle circus. Here is a full shot of the 12 x 12 page of Claws.

The first photo would have to be my most favourite one of Claws, this is how he always slept during the day, just too cute!! I have a matching page with more photos that I intend to finish on the weekend.
So until then, take care

Inspired by Shelli

This card has been inspired from Shelli's card that she demonstrated at Convention. I couldn't help myself and purchase this set Friends 24-7 and the co-ordinating Friends roller.....

I have stamped and rolled in Close to Coco and versamarked the flourish ( I think that is was you call it?) before I chalked over the image with pastel. The stamped flowers were also coloured using the pastels and a blender pen. The rest is fairly self explanatory but if you would like further details let me know.
So until next time, take care

Off the page....

So much for tomorrow!!!! I'm sorry guys for my inability to go get back to posting the rest of my sneak peek. I had all the good intentions but as of late my plans have been going out the window.

Anyway here you go and yes the guesses were right, a frame to hang on my wall in the hallway.

This framed master piece LOL has been created with the Inspired by Nature set and a recent purchase of a spellbinder set that created the beautiful butterfly. The colours are old olive, pretty in pink, regal rose, whisper white and of course basic black. The background has been embossed with a touch of glitter on the tips of the reeds to add a touch of shimmer in different light. The flowers were coloured on the stamp pad with markers before stamped. I have also used some of the current DS papers too. The live with passion sentiment has also been embossed with black.

The 8 x 10 inch frame I picked up from Go-Lo for a mere $5-00 and the other products used came to less than $5-00 too. There you have it, an off the page project for less than $10.00.

So take care and until next time,

Sneak Peek!!!

Hello All,

I thought I would give you a sneak peek of what I will be posting tomorrow.....

Any guesses of what it may be.... let me know,
So until next time and take care,

Good bye Claws!!!

It is sad today for our family, as our beloved kitten, Claws was found dead this morning in a neighbours front garden.
We had all really grown to the warmth, affection and of course attitude from Claws. He would hide behind a tree or bush and give a huge bear hug/jump out at you when you least expected it. One of his traits.... that even the regular walkers which pasted our house would be waiting for or looking out for him to do his usual stunts of bear hugs as we called them. It was quiet funny to watch.
Claws had even gained the regular attention from my hubby who is not really a cat person with his regular antics. Then our neighbours who thought he was just so cute! as he made himself known with regular visits and leg rubs.
It is a shame that Claws has past on at a young age of almost 7months. The kids have really felt it, especially Jacob as he found Claws this morning after he had died. We really don't know what happened as he looked perfectly normal, no injuries or war wounds were visible. I hope that when Claws died, he was not in any pain.... My darling hubby did the backyard burial and cross this afternoon which was lovely.... we all had a cry and said our goodbyes....
So until next time....

New back ground.....

Well I came across this background from Kez's blog (KB Papercrafts - you'll find on my side bar) that means so much to our family, as Jacob my 10 year old has Juvenile Diabetes also know as Type 1 Diabetes. So let pray that in the very near future that the CURE is found.
It was 12months on 20th of April this year since Jacob was diagnosed. He is so brave, in the fact that he does all of his own injections, 5 every day in total. Then there is all of those finger pricks to measure his BGL's and you know what? He rarely complains and just does it. His specialist his Suzanna, is just wonderful and praises him every three months when we see her, about how brave and grown up he has become with taking all of this on board.
Then to top if off, Jacob just loves hockey. Last year he played in the under 11 ACT side and had a ball. This year he has made it into the training squad for the ACT Public Schools, and after several training sessions he may be chosen to represent the ACT at Newcastle, in August to trial for the Australian Public Schools Representative side. It is just amazing that even if you have an illness and you love something enough that it will not hold you back. Just means that Mum and Dad have to keep working to pay for all these adventures. LOL
I had better give my beautiful daughter a mention about how she is always there when I need a helping hand with her brother that is, not the house work that is classified as a four letter word in her eyes. But hey, she loves her little brother and feels his pain, you can see it every time she watches him have an injection.
It is so funny you know, one minute world war 3 has just broken out, and the next thing they are helping each other, just normal I suppose, you have gotta love it???
These are some of our ups and downs in life, that could be a lot worse than they are and that is my out look on life....
So until next time,

Here are my projects from a workshop that I did yesterday at Michelle's (hello ladies). The first card is from the set called inspired by nature and this was the thank you card that I demonstrated and gave to Michelle.

This is the card that the ladies made using the scallop edged punch and lots of folds to create a flower for their card....
This a diaper fold pocket that I used as a door prize with a set of two step stamps inside. Riding hood red ribbon and Bella Rose 6in X 6in was used to make this cute gift pocket.

Smell the roses!!!!

I am hoping that come October, our wedding anniversary, I will have our wedding photos all scrapbooked. It has almost been 9 years since Andrew and I finally tie the knot. As you will see over the coming months both of our children were also part of the bridal party.
Here is one of the pages that I have finished, except for the journalling. That will come later.
We were very lucky with the photography, my uncle and step dad took all of the photos, around 300 of them.
Colours used were chocolate chip, baja breeze and whisper white.

There you have it, the first of many more to come. So until next time.....

Convention '09

I though I would share with you some of the make & takes that we made at convention. The first one is with one of the stamp sets I received at convention called TRENDY TREES and of course I could not help myself and changed the layout a bit.

This also is with the set trendy trees, the more and more I use this set, the more and more it grows on me.

The second set I received is called CIRCUS CIRCLES and just love it. Again me being me, changed the layout around a bit too...

I was sooo lucky to receive some many fantastic swaps to help the inspiration flowing, so if you can see your swap, let me know I would love to here from you.

There are still a few more that need to be posted next time. So until then, take care

Oh Baby!!!

Hello all, it seems like it has been yonks since I last blogged. I must try to be more active on the blogging side of things.

Since I posted last, I have been to CONVENTION !!! and had a real blast and met some of my fellow bloggers' in person. Hello Juliana. She is a real down to earth person, her mail boxes are awesome, check them out here http://julianasobsessions.blogspot.com/ .

Thanks to everyone for all the swaps, the amount of effort that some people went to was amazing. I will post some next time, so keep an eye out to see if we swapped!!!

My Mother in-law went to a baby shower today for her god daughter and this is the card that I made for her to give to Sally.

I used a template that I found on splitcoast stampers in the forum section and added five scallops cut off the scallop circle for each sleeve to resemble some frills. The centre of the scallop circle was punched out and attached to the collar of the jump suite along with three brads to look like closures.
I used my embossing folder to add texture to the jump suite and mounted the giraffe with dimensional.

The wild about you giraffe was stamped in so saffron, I then added some brads and highlighted the eyes, horns and tail in close to coco.

So until next time.....
